This is the beginning stage of three paintings that I am working on. I am trying to get a lot of texture and interest with the background because the foreground image will be mostly spot colors. My current pallet is orange, green, and yellow.

doh, to my benefit, i ignorantly thought it was complete. even in the paintings infancy, it’s richness and depth engaged my eyes and mind for quite a while. it leaves nothing to be desired. i had to be told it was a background. that’s one sweet background. i’m glad this stage of the painting was preserved and i mistakenly assumed it’s finality
